I was frusterated as all hell with it too, They made me walk ( try to ) a few hours after my surgery.. and it was horriblle, it took a week till I could Sit up normally in bed W/o getting all ill and dizzy, and I remember My foot felt really strange to me for some time ( nerveds re-firing I was told ) I also remember feeling like I was Very Old, as after 10 day's It took me an afternoon of planning to Have a shower and then I needed to rest for 6-8 hours to re-gain my strength, I remember thinking that I would never be the same again, and In some regards it holds true.. I look at things differentlly Now, and This season ( this one at least ) I am Not sending gaps For sure.. More tips for Ya... If you are on Perkasets ( breakthrough pain ) try not to take more than 2-3 a day and ask them to up Your oxi-contin dose for pain ( perkasets have a bad side effect of B"bunging you up" ) .. Oxi-contin is Shitty as hell to get off of later but it is better then Having the latter problems... Drink your/ Eat your prunes... seriously. Also make sure that You have a "footboard" As I did not, and My leg is re-attached Slightly Turned, Made it harder to re-gain my normal walk . I also while in hospital had a LAmbskin mat, it prevents bed sores.. I loved this mat. Will continue to help in any way I can... Stay strong man, You WILL heal.. Smile

I was back to riding ( carefully ) after 5 1/2 months and after a comical Bail on the 2nd ride I realized I was pretty Bail worthy.. I was riding again At full potential after 6 months, but am Still shaking the Jitters about Larger gap-style jumps.. This year I am being careful... I Did lots of Weight training at the gym ( leg press mostly ) and used my "good" leg as a saftey to stop and catch the weight if need be.. I would see how much Weight I could Comfortablly Catch with the bad leg and when I was Catching 100 lbs w/o strain I felt good enough to ride and Dh.. Also Got an electric muscle Stimulator ( they will show you it in physio ) it cost $80 Cad .. well worth it.. Did lots of Swimming, yoga when I could and Still take multi-vitamins everyday. This is A terriblle injury, You will know its harshness for a while yet, But Head's up.. you Will ride again, and When it seems that your leg will not extend fully or bend right, Know That I was there once also.. It doe's come back . Also ABSOLUTELY get some TRAUMEEL cream from a natural store.. it is absolutely Golden .. If I can think of anything else Or can help in anyway ..keep in touch .

74% of the time this is a fatal injury, You ( like me ) are lucky... How did you do it?

It was a shitty deal for sure, Was riding 5 1/2 months after... spent All my free time ( lots of it ) lifting weight and Reading... Also if you haven;t heard of it ... Get TRAUMEEL it is a cream you can get from a health food store.. and It is a seriously MAgical Substance for Pain of all types and to help speed healing... Remarkable.

I don;t have a family as of yet ( no kids ) so I still have some time to be "Crazy" but I hear ya, I wouldn;t have even attampted this or many other jumps/stunts I've done, Though I never see myself not Freeriding, I'd be tamer If I had family to Care for. I got my 07, 888 rc2x for $1100 brand new, It's Ironically, segnifigantly cheaper to buy as it's an older "outdated" fork... lol, I wouldn't trade it in if someone offered me a 2009 888.. No way, this Fork Is the best they come for it's intended purpose, and It Requires NO maitenance and Has Been ridden hard for 2 years.. I'll change the oil this winter as Routiene annual MAitenance, but I don't think it Even REALLY need's it, Like i say simply Routiene maitenance. Big Grin

This bike is my dream Dh rig, No compromise on strength, no concerns about weight as long as it doesn't brake on me I'm happy, I have a 2007 888rc2x and I love it, it's bombproof and feels great IMO it's the best fork in the best year that MArzocchi has ever made. I'm looking foreward to doing some Am/xc this summer as well as it occured to me that I can Stand ( marching pedaling ) pedal my demo 9 for 4 hours w/o stopping at a weight of 49 lbs So if I were to sit and pedal, and ride a bike that weighs sub 30, then I think I'd be a machiene. also I'll have to Take easy on the leg in the Start of the season.. I REALLY don;t want to get injured like this again.
where in bc. do you live?.. I though Dh was pretty prominent all over bc. ?
check out the reviews on the 08/09 888's, Most peoples opinions are that the rc2x system ( abandoned 2 years later ) of 06/-7 was the Apex of their Quality and also They were still made in italy.,, food for thought, I connot say enough good things about this
Fork.

Nice, thats the biggest bummer for me is that I have to spend ANOTHER winter not snowboarding...that sucks, and also that since i am unable to work my upgrades to my bike will require Vigilance and tons of working in the spring.. upgrades....>> Avid code's W/ goodridge lines, New wheelset ( unsure what exactly but I want Ringle hubs ) and a new rear shock ( possibly a PUSH'd 07 roco ) although I have no problems with my swinger 6 ( i'd keep it as a backup ), new grips, New Wtb Seat. also I Am going to build a Light Scouting bike Maybe a Sx trail with 66 Ata, and a Dhx Air rear.. Bc. is awesome, we plan on moving there after my Gf's apprenticeship is done.. Before i met her my plans were to move there next year... time will tell, but Regardless I spend EVERY weekend in bc. Biking, I lovve it there, I always Say That I'm "home" when I go there.

Why did you get the pin removed ? I've heard this happens on occasion, Was it causing you pain?? Do you still have issues with the bone or is it "Good as new" ?
