that is a fracture of the Fibula, which is a non weight bearing bone so not as serious. The original fracture of my ankle was a tibia ( larger weight bearing bone ) and fibula that went down into my ankle joint so fairly serious, I have the plate pictured in that link you posted plus another on the tibia. the tibeal plate ( being stainless steel ) created a pressure point on my tibia that took only time and then a little bit of precise force ( snowboard boot and binding ) to press further and harder into the bone, causing a weak point... it was Fine all summer when biking. so yeah, a second fracture of the tibia, just above the plate, and a higher up fracture of the fibula due to the resulting crash .. :( Boss has been awesome to me also.... im a lucky guy .

Holy jeeebus, we are a bunch of Metalic Warriors arnt we... lol, Well happy to hear the recovery was 6-8 weks, thats not too bad, I get some pain from the ir femur nail but its fairly minimal. The thing that makes me think about removing it is the new found lack of trust in hardware since this last injury. I have never had the pain i did with the femur, I also cracked my hip and broke my Scaphoid inthat crash ( was better to toss myself to the grund than to hit the oncoming trees I thought ) and it took about 3 weeks before I was able to do very much at all without a lot of help. I hope for all of those injured to have a speedy recovery. my fracture list for biking is the femur, hip and shoulder. I did my calcanius snowboarding, my tib and fib also snowboarding, various things ike toes and fingers skateboarding and the ankle shattering happened when I was lofted 40 feet into the air by a traction kite ( i figured this was a less injury prone sport lmao ) Downhillnirvana, How'd the X rays go ? hoping you;re not in need of further srgury. :salute: I also had meant to ask, how long after the removal of the femur rod before you were able to stand on it ? they tell me you can walk right after surgurey but must be carefull, I find this hard to believe.

this was what i thought after several times out riding and even doing some decent jumps and spins ( snowboarding ) then one day i took a super light toeside turn and went down like a sac o potatoes. Not trying to jinx you and I do hope you stay in tact, just consider the down time of removing the plates an option, I broke my ankle badly in october 2010 and my sergeon said the same... my fracture kept me down and out for 6 months as it was a tib and fix shattered into the ankle joint so quite possiblly worse for wear, the plates etched away my bone. :(
dmadness commented under mattwragg's blog ( Jan 19, 2012 at 2:42 )
what led you to have it removed? i ask because its my good leg now lol. but after this unfortunate new fracture caused by my ankle hardware I consider having the rod removed also. how long was recovery? hoping your bine is growing strong and further surgery isnt required. :salute:

Wishing you a speedy recovery, having just come off of a shattered ankle of both tib and fib I can say that ankle breaking sucks, but be glad its not the bigger weight bearing tibia. IF you need surgury to correct this be sure to have the plates removed asap, as I currentlly sit here with a sheared off tibia and broken fibula just past a year after the initial injury due to the plate literally shearing the bone in half. Heal fast.

Freedom of information should be considered as essential in todays world as clean water. We all evolve and become more informed and intelligent with access to free information and these assholes are trying to take that away. Support this movement as best you can by informing yourself and supporting free informatin sites such as wiki.

I'm just testing my ideas on ground not able to soak them in at least in pre-assumption. Why do U care BTW? Why don't let me make a fool out of myself?! I don't tell people to do amoral things, quite on the contrary. Even if what I say is let's call it "utopian", in this what most believe is a rational world. I mean you can go to any class of ethics and say: I think there was no Holocaust and people will discuss it. Rape and Crime are normal, it's strange there's so little of it - people will discuss it. Masturbation is normal - same stuff. I was a virgin until 27 when I got married, and I was dating my wife for 7years and lived with her for 3 - and people will go: what what whaaaaat?! I guess you can smell that this discussion actualy did happen...

I just wanted to say found that thing that I was intersted in and that I am going to explore. I am solely interested in economical benefits of being a good human being instead of being hm what most of us is in western world? because of the system that enslaves us more and more? And you get a total wrong image of me. I am an architect who achieved already a lot, I learned form the best in Europe. I am the most fluent in CAD anf VIZ software in my 45 people office. I worked on University, I was on my way to PhD. My wife is a PhD. I know more about bicycles than some people working in industry. I speak 3 languages and know more about human and natural science than my wife. On top of that I'm a pretty good and fit rider, I even start teaching riding this spring. I still manage to be at least a bit practicioning religious person. - Don't call me a retard... from my CV I am nearly all what Im against in my comments

Hello again... This time I'm here just to tell you that in fact I have found a fully working ideology where people are truly happy. It is the Great Law of Iroquise Nation. Now I shall gladly pursue books about it

if you read any theory like: what happens to world's economy if we stop buying unnecessary stuff. For instance in Europe it's more than unnecessary to buy SUVs. Mini Morris is more than enough.

BTW, if you read something from economics like: what happens if suddenly all people stop buying crap they don't need, then please send me a book. And I am far away from arguing just for the point of arguing here (even though it may seem so). I'm far from being any leftist loonie either - I'm kind of from PL, I sort of know neither socialism nor capitalism works. I'm looking for a solution you see... I'm this kind of a loonie.

Now 100% honestly - thanks for discussion. I am a environmental/social loonie since 3 months, and I look for answers in strange places, you stuff was pretty helpful on getting new perspectives.
